About IFDO Games
IFDO Games is a collection of interactive fiction and narrative puzzle games.
You play by reading the story, exploring locations, examining objects, and solving puzzles. Your
choices and discoveries shape how the story unfolds.
The games blend text adventure, mystery, and exploration. Think choose-your-own-path meets
detective work: you move between places, look at things closely, use items, and piece together
clues to progress. No reflexes required—just curiosity and a bit of patience.
How to play
- Explore. You’re in a location (e.g. a room, a street). Use the listed actions
to go to new places or interact with what’s there.
- Examine. Look at objects, read notes, and check your surroundings. Descriptions
often hide clues or hints.
- Use items. You carry an inventory. Try using items on people, objects, or the
environment when something seems relevant.
- Solve puzzles. Progress often depends on finding clues, making connections,
or using the right item in the right place. If you’re stuck, re-read descriptions or try another
location.
- Follow the story. Goals and next steps are usually implied by the narrative.
When in doubt, pursue what the characters or the situation suggest.
FAQ
They’re text-based interactive fiction: you read the story and choose
what to do next. Gameplay is mostly exploration, examination, and puzzle-solving rather
than action or timing.
Creating a free account lets the game save your progress so you can continue
later. Your inventory, location, and story state are stored on the game servers when you’re
signed in.
Nothing! All of the games are free to play.
Re-read the current location and object descriptions; clues are often in
the text. Try revisiting earlier locations or using items from your inventory in new places.
Some puzzles require combining information from several spots. If you’re really stuck, take
a break and come back—sometimes the answer clicks later.
GEO is in development: it’s a full playable mystery. You follow a
cryptic video into a geocaching-style treasure hunt that leads through real-world
inspired locations, puzzles, and a larger story. Both are narrative-driven and
puzzle-focused; GEO is the one to play for a complete experience right now.
Aurora’s Rise is in the concept stage: There's no game yet, really.
Because it's fun!. I've always been interested in games and
storytelling, and I wanted to create something that I would want to play. Many years
ago, I stumbled on a site called
Rinkworks: Adventure Games Live and was blown away by the creativity and imagination of the games. I've been hooked ever
since.
